The drawings HYMNE (based on Stezhamers Homatland song) are presented as a room installation, with black yarns, which connect the drawings and integrate the viewer – who is a part of the installation, when entering the room. The artist invites DJ lamarc to compose a new version of the hymn. Both are presented in the room.
Since many years Sarah Iris Mang has been dealing with the subject of home in her artwork and developing different works, mainly installations.
Installations: ROOM OF HOME, TABLE FOR PRESENTS, THE BOAT, HOME&GOING.
She grew up in Upper Austria and the text of the song “Homatland” from Franz Stelzhamer (the hymn of Upper Austria) inspired her to develop different works for her exhibition “Hoamtland”, which was first showed in 2016 at the gallery 44 in Linz/Leonding.
For this exhibition HOAMATLAND Sarah Mang invited friends of the art scene, for example the writer Gertaud Klemm and the artist Barbara Klampfl, to produce a work for the project. The others were: Christl Leitner, Markus Kircher, Marcus Langhammer/DJ lamarc and Richard Winkler.
